Marv is our branch manager and lead financial advisor at NuVista Wealth. He started NuVista with his father, Marv Sr., in 2005 when they left Northwestern and joined Raymond James. Over the last two decades, he has helped shape the business into what it is today. When Marv Sr. retired, he bought out the business and continued to help it grow.
Before becoming an advisor in 2004, Marv received a Bachelor of Science in Technical Sales and Customer Service from Weber State University and later his Charter Financial Consultant Designation from the American College. He has since become a certified business exit consultant through the International Exit Planning Association and completed the Raymond James Investment Management Consultant Program. He is a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA).
Here at NuVista, Marv helps business owners and individuals determine what they want to do with their future and transition through the different stages of life. He is the author of Got Wealth, Now What?, an upcoming book that details the different practices and advice he gives regularly to clients. Marv works hard to be a thought leader to help clients get the most out of their lives.
Marv serves on the advisory board for Pioneer Adult Rehabilitation Center (PARC). He is also a member of the North Davis Business Alliance, a group of professionals that meets regularly to discuss the community's ongoings. He also serves in various positions in his local church community.
Marv loves spending time with his family when he's not in the office. He enjoys playing pickleball, golfing, hiking, snow skiing, and riding in the mountains on a side by side or on horseback. He has recently discovered a love for writing and is in the process of publishing three books. Photography and videography have been a big part of Marv’s life. Before becoming a financial advisor, he made wedding videos, and recently, he fell in love with astrophotography.
Marv has been married to Jolyn for over 25 years. Together, they have three beautiful kids and were recently made grandparents.
